Ultrasound-Guided Injectable & Dissolution Services

At PH Med, we don’t inject blind. Dr. Bui uses real-time diagnostic ultrasound to visualize tissue, map existing filler, and guide every needle with precision that isn’t possible without imaging. It’s the same standard used in surgical suites — brought to aesthetic medicine.

The Safety Gap in Aesthetic Medicine

Filler complications — including vascular occlusion, displacement, and unintended layering — happen more often than the industry acknowledges. Most of these complications occur because the injector cannot see what they’re doing at a tissue level.

Dr. Bui founded PH Med specifically to address this gap. She invested in diagnostic ultrasound equipment and the training to use it — not as a marketing feature, but as a clinical standard she believes every injectable patient deserves.

Ultrasound guidance means Dr. Bui can see vessels before she injects near them, confirm product placement in real time, and locate and safely dissolve filler — even filler placed elsewhere years ago.

Without Imaging

The injector works from anatomical landmarks and tactile feedback. Vessels, previous filler, and tissue planes are invisible. Placement is estimated.

With Ultrasound Guidance

Dr. Bui sees the needle in real time. Vessels are mapped and avoided. Existing product is located. Placement is confirmed. Dissolution is targeted and complete.

Image-Guided Services

Every service in this category is performed by Dr. Bui under ultrasound guidance. None are delegated.

Ultrasound-Guided Filler

Dermal filler placed with real-time ultrasound visualization. Dr. Bui confirms tissue plane, avoids vasculature, and verifies placement before concluding. Ideal for high-risk areas including the nose, temples, and tear troughs.

Image-Guided Filler Dissolution

Hyaluronidase injected under ultrasound guidance to precisely target and dissolve unwanted or misplaced hyaluronic acid filler. Unlike blind dissolution, imaging confirms complete removal and protects surrounding tissue.

Filler Mapping & Audit

A diagnostic ultrasound scan to map existing filler — where it is, how much, and what tissue layer it occupies. Essential for patients with a history of filler who want to understand their current baseline before new treatment.

Ultrasound-Guided Toxin Placement

For precise neurotoxin placement in complex areas — including masseter, platysma, and periorbital — ultrasound confirms muscle depth and guides injection for more consistent, targeted results with less product diffusion.

Who Should Consider Image-Guided Services

You don’t need a history of complications to benefit from ultrasound guidance. But certain patients gain the most from Dr. Bui’s imaging-first approach.

Patients with filler placed elsewhere who want an honest assessment of what’s there
Anyone experiencing lumps, asymmetry, or changes in filler over time
Patients who want filler dissolved safely and completely
Anyone receiving filler in high-risk areas (nose, temples, tear troughs)
Patients who’ve had a vascular event or near-miss from prior filler
Anyone who has accumulated filler from multiple providers over the years
Patients seeking precise toxin placement with consistent results
Anyone who simply wants the highest standard of care available

Frequently Asked Questions

Does ultrasound-guided treatment take longer?
Slightly, yes. Ultrasound setup and assessment add time to the appointment, but this is intentional — thoroughness is the point. Most image-guided appointments run 15–30 minutes longer than a conventional injectable appointment.
I’ve had filler at other places. Can Dr. Bui dissolve it?
Yes. Dr. Bui can assess and dissolve hyaluronic acid filler regardless of where or when it was placed. Ultrasound allows her to locate product precisely — even filler that has migrated or is in unexpected tissue planes.
Is ultrasound-guided filler safer than conventional filler?
Yes, meaningfully so for high-risk areas. Real-time vascular visualization allows Dr. Bui to identify and avoid arteries before injection — significantly reducing the risk of vascular occlusion, which is the most serious complication of filler treatment.
Do I need a referral to see Dr. Bui for a complication?
No referral needed. If you’ve experienced a filler complication or are concerned about existing filler, contact PH Med directly to schedule a consultation. Dr. Bui sees complication management patients promptly.
